It is very simple, anyone can do this. Connect data cable (one end of USB cable ) to computer and second end point (mini USB ) to Micromax Q5 mobile. Once you connect your Micromax mobile to computer through data cable, in mobile screen it displays, “USB Config” in that 3 options will up comes:

1. Mass Storage

2. Webcam (Select this to use your mobile as Webcam )

3. COM port

In these options, first one is mass storage; it is used for storage purpose like songs, images, videos, it is related with phone memory and memory card. COM port is used to connect mobile to computer and manage mobile in PC-suite and also it is use to connect Internet. Option ‘Webcam’ is used to connect mobile to computer as web cam.

You have to choose option 2: Webcam. Once you select you will see only webcam icon displaying on the screen of mobile. For first time, Operating System automatically install its driver, you can see this in notification area.

To check about its working follow this:

Go to start > Control Panel > make it switch to classic view > go to scanners and cameras > open USB Video Device > Scanner and Camera Wizard will open here, just go for next > now you will see in preview window that your Mobile camera is working now as a Webcam.

It works similar to normal Webcam; now you can use this in IM chatting, video conference calls etc. try it on Yahoo Messenger, Skype, Facebook, Gtalk etc.

That’s it, now you can successfully use your Micromax Mobile as Webcam.

Thanks Rana for stopping by,

It seem that you are connected your mobile correctly, and one more thing whenever you use dial-up, pc-suite automatically display it as 'disconnected' (because you can't use other funtions in pc-suite whenever you connected to internet).

Check your internet settings in Mobile and in Pc-suite may be problem in it for not loading Internet pages.

Hello Tashanster, I think your mobile is not connected correctly. Also, check/update camera scanner drivers.
